Here we have a mighty mix from the mighty Mighty Mouse. First breaking in 2009 with a remix causing a stir when it featured on Aeroplane’s Essential mix the MM guys haven’t looked back. A string of remixes including Robbie Millions and Gorillaz plus their Disco Circus compilations have set them firmly in the hearts and minds of the international nu-disco scene.

Old Fool Vibez

“Foolish” may be something of a misleading moniker for our man Felix, as he’s managed to forge a prolific career for himself as a producer and DJ extraordinaire, that’s seen him trot around the globe at one or two sweet as parties here or there .  A charmed life.  Not the existence of a fool by any means.  It’d be more appropriate to call him “Spawny” Felix Dickinson.  I’d be “Massively Well Jel” Duncan Diablo and Neil, well he’d be “Lazy” Neil Diablo.

Anyway, Felix is by no means foolish enough to rest on his laurels smoking doobies all day, he’s a very busy man, doobies or not (seriously, never met him, i don’t know if he does).  The owner of Cynic Records, part of Mythical Beasts (International Feel) with Diablo favourite Toby Tobias, compiler of Originals Vol.5 on Claremont 56 and resident down at Bad Passion.  And that’s just tickling the tip of the iceberg, delve back into any period during the last 20 years and you’ll realise exactly how prolific a producer and eager a collaborator he is, making beautiful music and parties with the best of the best.

Felix has been decent enough to allow us to host his recent “Foolishness” mix and it’s a mother fucking killer.

It’s P-A-R-T-A-Y time, we’ve only gone and made it to 8 YEARS OLD somehow. Don’t quite know how….but we have, and we are as keen as mustard to celebrate as raucously as humanly possible with all of our friends and comrades.  Sticking to our nu-nomadic principles, after last month’s  KRAAK gallery soiree with James Priestley, we are emigrating to the City Of Salford for an all day Balearic BBQ, preceding an eve of epic rave over at Islington Mill.

Our special guest is something of a hot ticket yet also rather enigmatic on the slo-mo house and discoid scene. His untitled series of 12 inch EP’s and his down tempo house, disco & techno DJ sets, position him alongside folks such as Mark-E and The Revenge as contemporaries, whilst at the same time ensuring that there is no one currently, that sounds quite like man of the moment, COTTAM !

Since his first release in Sept 2009, Cottam has now put out four eponymous EPs and worked with greats like Ilija Rudman.  Having spun techno for year upon year, he had a epiphany of sorts and these days embraces the full influence of his record collection.  Last year’s Causes Of Colour mix over on the Warm blog was in many people’s end of year lists and it’s a coup to bring him back to Manchester in his current guise and for your entertainment.

It’s Bank Holiday weekend, it’s day n night, it’s our Birthday !  No excuses, let’s get down and party.

The Bad Passion Project, as you should know, is a posse of Dee Jays and promotors who specialise in bringing the disco pain to the London underground.  With a similar taste in bookings to our good selves and a rep to protect for providing a fierce party in a sexy shithole (their venue not anus), the lads have been nice and safe in their attitude enough to furnish us with this bellisimo blend.  Andy, Chris, Daniel, we salute you. Eamon Harkin (not Holmes) runs not one but two of the current parties du jour in NYC, the triumphant Mister Saturday Night and the hot, hot, hot, outdoor, Summer soiree, Sunday Best.  Regular gigs on both sides of the Atlantic and increasing remix duties are bringing Eamon to the fore in many people’s thinking and his selection skills turbo-boosting his rep as a DJ.

He’s had a rummage and dug out this live mix from Mister Saturday Night, June this year, following on from Ivan Smagghe, more techno flavoured than you may be used to from him, a definite belter of a mix.
